Tiffanie Week 10

Yesterday my husband looked at me and said, “looking good!” While I may not always feel like I’m ‘looking good’ or sometimes I can get a little down on myself, it’s always nice to feel like my hard work is showing some results. It’s hard to believe there’s only 2 weeks left in this bootcamp challenge but the most important thing for me is to keep going even after it’s over. I haven’t lost the amount of weight that I would like and I haven’t amped up my running to the extent that I would like and I have to keep reminding myself that bootcamp is a way for me to kick start the routine. The 12 weeks aren’t the beginning, middle and end but really just the beginning. It’s helped me become much more aware of what I eat, how I exercise and how I need to manage my time.

Having said that, I also have to say: wow, these mamas are bringin’ it hard! I’m astounded at the changes I’ve seen in them and the progress that they’ve made. Their commitment is so inspirational and I know I’m going to think about them every single time I complain that I’m too tired to work out. They’ll be my motivation long after this experience has ended.

Last weekend, I met up with Jen for a run before Ray’s torture session. We both felt a little anxiety before starting out since I think we both expect a lot of ourselves. We didn’t go crazy or anything – our run ended up being about 3 miles or so down the West Side Highway. My former self would have laughed; 3 miles is nothing at all. Yet, getting out and running alongside somebody on (part of) a route I used to take while training for marathons felt pretty damn good. We followed that up with 30 minutes of spinning and 30 minutes of outdoor interval training that pretty much did me in. I may have pushed myself too hard that day but sometimes I need to in order to remind myself what my body is capable of.

2 more weeks to go and then I’m on my own!

Now, back to the blog!

  1. [...] Tiffanie – I hadn’t seen her in a while because she has been sick. On Saturday a shrink wrapped version arrived. She says she doesn’t feel any differently, but I saw it immediately! She’s looking leaner and meaner! Tiffanie: Listen to your husband! You look great! [...]
