Manganaro’s! Love this place!

Manganaro’s! Love this place!

On 9th Ave there are 2 Manganaro’s side by side. You want the one with the old timey sign. Head to the back through the great authentic vintage campy decor, and you will find Seline who makes everything from scratch. It is like going to your Aunt’s house for lunch! The menu changes daily, but the meatball parm is a staple. But do yourself a favor and also try the rice ball….more like a risotto ball.

It is not the cheapest eats in town, but worth the dough for a really unique New York dining experience. I just love that places like this still exist even as they face rising rents, keeping the idea of a neighborhood alive.

  1. Dano says:

I love ‘old-timey’ as an adjective.
    I also miss my aunt Jo’s rice-balls. I think I have to make a Manganaro’s trip.

  2. I demand more pictures! :)
