Bloated, feeling heavy and constipated is how my week started out. I know that’s called TMI,
but sharing is caring as my 4 year old can say… Thinking I’d give myself a mini treat, I decided
to have a nice thick steak with loads of veggies. That was one of the worst things I could do
after not having beef in over 2 months. Didn’t really think pain and cramps existed like that after
my children, but try not being able to go for more than 3 days and tell me how you feel… Thank
goodness for Natasha (one of the other Mama’s) she suggested Senna tea. Laughing so hard,
I really made an attempt to make it to Ray’s torture sessions after drinking the tea… Way too
funny… Try doing planks in that situation… No bueno!
Lesson learned for sure. Once your body gets use to not having beef, sugars, etc, your body will
go into shock the first time you do. Be careful especially when you start to reintroduce foods
back into your diet. Since beef was so hard to digest and breakdown, for me anyway, I tried to
stay away from it for so long. Chicken, chicken and more chicken. Of course I had fish at least
once a week, along with my veggies, but chicken is one of my favorite foods and extremely high
in protein… I guess my love affair with steak has to take a back seat as well. I’m embracing the
change.
Your body starts to tell you what it wants and doesn’t want ever again… The best thing you can
do is listen to your body, trust me… I’m taking heed! Its funny, with only 1 week remaining in
bootcamp, (sad face) I thought I knew everything there was to know about maintaining a healthy
diet. Guess I’m still learning. Just because you do loads of veggies, you still have to monitor
your meat in take. I’m sticking to what’s best for my body, and what my body craves. Listen to
your body, and good luck!
Here’s my perfect dinner. 4 oz chicken breast with Steam garlic veggies… Simple and quick.
Don’t forget to join me and the other Mama’s every Saturday at PEDAL NYC. Bootcamp starts
at 11:30 am sharp. Come burn more than 700 calories with us. By the way, I forgtot to mention
it is FREE… With one more week remaining, let’s make it good! Hope to see you guys there!

[...] Crystal experienced what I have. I have stopped eating red meat and I made the grave error of doing so this week and my body had a fit! Did not sleep a wink as the steak swished in my belly. Not pretty! [...]
