Ok, i was dubious. Never did care for the Slim Jim’s that my brothers would scarf down on road trips. To me, any type of meat that doesn’t destroy itself in 3 days, don’t want it. But then Chinese Beef Jerky entered my life and changed my tastes forever.
One of the best parts of the experience of going to Ling Kee’s on Canal is that it really does feel like an excursion to another country. It is on the part of Canal you never see….even somewhat desolate on a beautiful day around lunchtime.
We scored 4 pieces for about 3 bucks. 2 beef, 2 pork. While I liked the beef, the pork tasted like Peking Duck….SO Delish!
Andd what’s really cool is that Chinese immigrants are one of the most recent additions to NYC, yet they bring with them the oldest prepared food known to man! Dating back to ….oh what did Seth say….5000B.C.!
