Alfanoose was founded in 1999 by Mouhamad Shami in New York City’s Financial District. Shami is a lover of authentic Middle Eastern cuisine and a purist at heart. Alfanoose came about, mainly because of his disappointment in finding true Syrian/Lebanese food in New York. And let me tell you, this place is incredible. Some of the best chicken shawarma we have ever eaten, but every single thing is worth trying and the prices are beyond reasonable. That is why come lunch-time you will have to wait in line. BUT GO! And they were so nice!
